Former Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins saw his NFL Scouting Combine cut short on Friday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

After running an impressive 4.28-second 40-yard dash, Wiggins limped off the field with a groin injury and has been ruled out for the remainder of Friday's drills, per NFL Network's Stacey Dales.

Wiggins told Dales that his groin "feels like it popped" and was "on fire."

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the initial medical evaluation on Wiggins is that he suffered a hip flexor injury.

"He's going to ice it and revaluate," Rapoport added.

Wiggins is widely expected to be a first-round pick in this spring's draft.

However, he's the No. 50 ranked prospect on the Bleacher Report NFL Scouting Department's big board, and the No. 7 ranked cornerback behind the likes of Terrion Arnold, Kool-Aid McKinstry and Khyree Jackson.

"Wiggins' versatility in the pass game is what ultimately drives his value up. His length and ability to run make him one of the top cornerbacks in this year's class. He has the frame to continue to add weight, and with time and maturity, he should improve his play strength. Wiggins has the ability to be a starter in the NFL, but he will need to continue to improve his technique early on in his career."

Wiggins, who committed to Clemson as a four-star prospect, spent all three seasons of his college career with the Tigers. In 27 games, he posted three interceptions, 21 passes defended, two forced fumbles and 60 tackles.

The 20-year-old is coming off a solid 2023 campaign in which he recorded two interceptions, two forced fumbles, six passes defended, one sack and 29 tackles in 10 games.
